Watercolor Flower Paintings: Introducing My New Collection
There’s something timeless about flowers—soft, expressive, and constantly changing with the seasons. Over the past few months, I’ve been working on a new series of watercolor flower paintings, mostly peonies, that I hope will bring a sense of joy and serenity into homes all around.
I branched out a bit from my normal style in this collection— I wanted to play around with matching patterns with florals! So you will notice some of the paintings have stripes or a gingham pattern to enhance the border.
Inspiration Behind the Collection
A lot of this work was inspired by quiet moments—observing flowers in natural light, noticing subtle color shifts, and sketching from life whenever possible.

Rather than aiming for strict realism, I focused on capturing a feeling. Some paintings are more detailed, while others are loose and expressive, allowing the watercolor to move freely. My goal is for these watercolors to bring a timeless beauty to your space.
Featured Paintings from the Collection
This collection includes a range of floral subjects. From fuller compositions, to patterns around the flowers, to the exploration of light and shadow. Here are some of my favorites from the collection:

Types of Peonies Print
This watercolor print has to be one of my favorites. I love that it is not only an elegant display of the different types of peonies that can bring beauty to a room, but also an educational tool! I had to do my own research of the different forms of peonies, and I picked out my favorite nine to add into this painting! If you'd like your own print of this watercolor, grab it in the link below!

Pink Peony Print
To me, this is one of the prints that I feel is most versatile. It is simple and classy, and could enhance any space that it is put in. You can dress it in a fancy frame like what is showed in the photo, or you can put it in a simple wooden or white frame to keep it low-key. Grab your own in the link below!
Why I Keep Coming Back to Watercolor for Flowers
There’s a natural connection between watercolor and botanical subjects. The transparency of the paint allows light to come through the layers, which gives petals a luminous quality that’s hard to replicate in other mediums.
At the same time, watercolor forces you to let go of control. That unpredictability often leads to the most interesting results—textures, edges, and color blends that couldn’t be planned in advance.
